Message that sig pic was taken on interstate 5 North in 2004. I attended an international Z meet in Vegas and the local club the SinCityZClub came out to hang out with my group. one of the guys from my group (Marty 4653) took this pic while we were ripping 130 MPH. there were 35-40 Z cars in that convoy. I prefer action pics to cars sitting still.

now, as far as modding an NA goes, no it is not worthless to modify an NA. we had a Z meet in Denver in 05 and a guy came out of Utah trailering a heavily modded NA for our track event. the car was a beast. it was very fast around the track. it was very loud too. but thats the price that you pay for going all-motor.

first off, to get power, you have to bump up the compression ratio. this will throw reliability right out the window. my groundpounder would run hot in stopNgo traffic. I got tired of blowing headgaskets. in the case of a VG30DE, you would have to run race gas just to be safe. fuel economy would be horrible (my 540 ci rat motor got 3mpg).

if you are wanting a dedicated track car, you will be fine. but for a roadcar, it is horrendous. after doing the groundpounder thing, I promised myself that never again would I build a car that couldnt be driven cross country.

the forced induction is so much easier on the motor. on the highway, Ive experienced a 75-80 mile improvement per tank of gas.

if you want to drop the money into your car to mod it, modify a car to be a better roadcar, not just to be different. alot of guys throw a buttload of money into their cars to be different, but that leaves them dissatisfied. I mod my car to be a better driver's car because I'm gonna drive the car to hell and back. I put 25k per year on her(230k now).

where are you located? lets go driving.
